BEGA PV · Light without a cable

Four-sided photovoltaics, a 96 Wh sodium-ion battery, motion and light sensors. BEGA specifies 16 hours at 100% and wireless group control.

Why it matters

Self-contained power meets demand-based control. Worth considering for paths where laying a cable is difficult.

What to check

Manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements. Request autonomy test conditions, a winter energy budget, snow and shade performance, photometry and battery replacement details. Wh measures energy capacity, not power.

Form and materials

Andromeda · A light sculpture

Lindsey Adelman Studio’s Andromeda AD.22.01 uses intersecting, asymmetric planes. The maker lists a height of 147 cm, width of 137 cm and weight of 22.5 kg; stone finishes may increase the weight.

Why it matters

Its form changes a room before the light is switched on. A useful reminder to assess an expressive object against the scale of its setting.

What to check

Dimensions come from the creator. Check fixing loads, suspension height, glare, dimming and maintenance access. Artistic expression does not establish lighting efficacy; the reviewed source contains no independent measurements.

Why it matters

Fewer separate ceiling fittings. Lighting and ventilation still need their own calculations.

What to check

Check noise, duct pressure, light distribution and maintenance access. The figures are manufacturer specifications.
